Key Role Description

Leads all Planning and Performance Management activities within Monroe’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) function. Collaborates closely with other SCM team members and key stakeholders to drive rigorous Data Analytics, Financial Planning, Contract & Procurement Planning, Savings Tracking/Reporting, Market Intelligence and Performance Management of the SCM team and Monroe’s Suppliers.

Role Specific Competencies

At Monroe, we have identified eleven specific competencies we expect all leaders of our organization to possess. These competencies are incorporated as part of our Selection, Performance Management / Review and Developmental processes. The competencies and activities for this role are detailed below.

Technical Knowledge - demonstrates the specific skills necessary for the assignments, understands the background and points of leverage to be effective in the role:

  • Develops, drafts and rolls out Annual Plans for Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Procurement; drives adherence to these plans and regularly reports related progress, across the team
  • Establishes appropriate methodologies and related processes for validating, tracking and reporting SCM generated Savings and Efficiencies
  • Develops clear and meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and collaborates with stakeholders, other SCM team members and suppliers to implement and administer Monroe’s Supplier Performance Management (SPM) program, related scorecards and Business Reviews, on an ongoing basis
  • Develops, implements and manages a similar program for tracking & reporting internal SCM Performance
  • Maintains a robust Supplier Diversity Program; ensuring proper screening and registration of qualifying suppliers, and manages related tracking and internal / external reporting, as required
  • Compiles Market Intelligence and distributes to SCM team members and stakeholders, where relevant

Knowledge of Work Areas and Responsibilities - demonstrates a clear understanding of the role and associated responsibilities within the assigned area(s); remaining flexible and agile in adapting to changes or exploring opportunities and challenges:

  • Maintains a close working relationship with SCM Leadership, and Monroe’s Technical & Refinery Leadership Teams to ensure SCM plans and activities are fully aligned with the needs of the business
  • Proactively establishes 3rd Party Spend profile(s) as key input for the SCM Planning process
  • Tracks and submits SCM annual budget related data; leads interface with the Finance team to ensure the function remains on budget, at all times.

Integrity and Trust - honest, accountable, upholds ethics standards and maintains confidentiality, as required. Demonstrates integrity in handling sensitive negotiations and managing key supplier relationships:

  • Demonstrates Monroe’s values, at all times, while acting as a key point of contact for our third party suppliers and their representatives.
  • Responsible for Planning & Execution of Supplier Forums. Works with other SCM team members and Administrative Assistants to hold such events regularly, as prescribed by the business (Min. 1x/Year).

Experience and Skills

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a Supply Chain Analyst, Planning and/or Performance Management type role
  • Proven ability to influence others, at all levels of the organization
  • Versed in development of performance metrics, scorecards, reports, and results analysis to drive Continuous Improvement across the SCM function
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Applications, including advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Familiarity with data extraction techniques and strong ability to analyze, accurately assess, and report conclusions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oil & Gas (Upstream and/or Downstream), Petrochemical or Chemical industry experience.
  • Skilled in the use of CMMS, ERP and SCM systems environments (e.g. Maximo, SAP, Ariba, etc.)
