Job Description:

Key Role Description

Ensures that all finished product, feedstocks and raw material transactions have been properly accounted for each month. Tracks, reconciles and reports monthly inventories at the refinery, terminals (onsite and offsite), barges, pipelines, and exchanges. Responsible for the appropriate accounting of crude supply agreements and finished products off take agreements, including Foreign Trade Zone activity.

Role Specific Competencies

Technical Knowledge – demonstrates the specific skills necessary for the assignments, understands the background and points of leverage to be effective in the role.

• Works with the Revenue Accounting department to reconcile all tickets received against all receipts and shipments.
• Verifies third-party statements for correct volume amounts.
• Reconciles with third party terminal, pipeline and exchange statements on a daily and monthly basis.
• Verifies all movements impacting the inventory balances have been recorded in Soteica (Production Book).
• Soteica – daily omni feed, T-4, analysis of tickets pushed to RA – corrections made.
• Coordinates the flow of crude accounting detail from the point of run ticket input through the processing of checks and all monthly closing activities.
• Barge/pipeline verifies and enters all movements against correct order/contract to ensure transaction is booked and processed for payment in a timely manner. Main Point of contact for Financial Accounting
• Railcars – oversees all railcar contracts. All entries into RA. Identifies issues and resolves discrepancies entered by Watco. Reconciles monthly with Revenue Accounting.
• RINS – Retrieves and enters all moves.
• Projects – involvement with ongoing Commercial initiatives
• Responsible for tracking contracts & orders in conjunction with Atlanta Fuels Team
• Enters requisitions, tracks PO’s, and audits invoices as necessary.
• Compiles data for and prepare regularly scheduled or special reports and analysis.
• Other ad-hoc requests as needed.

Experience and Skills

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

• Preferred 3+ years’ experience in the refining industry in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Familiarity or experience with SAP, Maximo, S-TMS, RightAngle or other ERP system software preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in all of Role Specific Competencies.
