Key Role Description

System administrator for the Mass Balance and Accounting system responsible for daily reconciliation and model accuracy. Interacts with all departments to lead improvement opportunities in measurement and instrumentation related to the Mass Balance and Accounting system. Loss Control Analyst for the refinery and marine movements including administrator for Crude Assay / Crude Quality database system.

  • Supports the Accounting and Finance functions with respect to: Mass and Yield reconciliations and comparison by period (day, month, quarter, year) for production and consumption; supports reconciliations of crude oil and feedstock volumes; assists with adjustments crude oil/volume/movement
  • Responsbile for  mass reconciliation model changes and adjustments, supports LP model backcasting with mass reconciliation analysis
  • Supports Planning and Optimization initiatives and deliverables.
  • Participates in refinery Planning and Optimization activities.
  • Continue to improve and automate mass balance reconciliation data gathering and processes
  • Utilize STMS and Haverly HCAMs systems to provide analysis and improvement opportunities with specific focus on Yield and Loss.

Experience and Skills

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science – Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ specific experience in Refinery Process Engineering in high-risk, capital intensive industry such as refining, petrochemical, or chemical processing.
  • Desire to learn refinery optimization, linear programming and products blending for future opportunities
  • Understanding of simple coding or programming activities used in automation of data gathering and validating
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all of Role Specific Competencies.
